Hello and welcome to another edition of Video Game Additions for the month of November, 2014. As you could see, this blog looks really different now doesn't it? It's a free theme I found online called "Helix". I wanted my blog to look a bit more professional so I hope you like it! I wanted to change the format for these post yet again. So this time instead of focusing on where I bought the games, I'll just sort the games by what systems they are on. I'm doing this because I always tend to go to the same places so there's really nothing interesting on where I bought the games. So without a further a do!

Ratchet & Clank Collection Cost: $15 Worth (NEW): $15 Savings: $0 |
Despite having the Playstation 2 for a long time, I have never played any of the popular first part games on it. Like Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, God of War, Killzone, etc. I wanted to play the Ratchet & Clank games to I figured instead of hunting down the first three separate games on the PS2, I might as well get the HD collection on the PS3. It's like killing three birds with one far superior bird. With the collection being HD and having trophies, and being 3D if your into that kind of thing. Okay not that good analogy but the point is that now I have the original trilogy of Ratchet & Clank games to play through. I'll probably end up getting the original PS2 releases in the future because I like have the original versions of games. I'm just happy Sony made all of these HD collections for many of their PS2 classics.

LittleBigPlanet Cost: $10 Worth (CIB): $8 Savings: -$2 |
On my quest to catch up with Playstation exclusives, I had to get the original LittleBigPlanet. Especially with the third one coming out this year. I actually beat this game's single player campaign. Which is completely shocking as I never beat any games I get. I played this purely single player and I think it is a tad dull. There was no plot to speak of really or any goal. It wasn't until the tail end of the game where there was actually a boss to fight. Then the game just sorta ends. There's no credit sequence or like any kind of ending. The game just ends. The real draw for this game is not the pre-made levels, it's the custom made levels from the community. Now I'm lazy so I didn't put any time into the create mode but I did play some player made levels and I did have fun with them. Would I recommend this game to anyone though? Most likely not. I'm in the middle of playing LittleBigPlanet 2's single player and it is definitely leaps and bounds better than LittleBigPlanet. If you want to get into LittleBigPlanet, I recommend playing number 2 or the latest number 3.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Cost: $5 Worth (CIB): $7 Savings: $2 |
This is a game I technically own already. Last year when I got my PS3, I had enough extra money to sign up for three months of Playstation Plus. With that Playstation Plus, it gave me Uncharted 3 to play. Now I no longer can afford Playstation Plus regularly, so I'm locked out of that game. I own Uncharted 1 & 2 so it feels incomplete without 3. I didn't want that game locked behind that Plus paywall so that is why I bought it. I already beat the game last year so this is when I want to replay the game in the future. It's only $5 so why not!

God of War: Ascension Cost: $15 Worth (NEW): $14 Savings: $1 |
Like I talked about before, I'm trying to play all of the popular PS2 games that I missed. So I bought the God of War Saga collection on PS3 which has God of War 1,2, and 3. Also the two PSP games remade in HD. So there is only one God of War game I'm missing, and that's God of War: Ascension. I was at Target Black Friday weekend and it was on sale for $15. At first I was reluctant to buy it, opting to get it at a later date. But the seventh gen of consoles are only going to get older and phased out of stores. So what the hell, I might as well get it while it's in my hands. It's going to be a while before I play this game since I have 5 God of War games to play first.

Journey: Collector's Edition Cost: $20 Worth (NEW): $15 Savings: -$5 |
Journey is a game that I wanted a PS3 to play. I can not tell you why because I don't even know myself but, I just wanted to play Journey. It's close to one year later owning my PS3 and I still didn't play Journey. I wanted this fixed. So I found the game used at Gamestop and I bought it. I heard that Journey is short and best played in one sitting. I can't wait to play this game. Also the extra games included in the collector's edition is nice.

WWE Smackdown: Just Bring It! Cost: $4 Worth (CIB): $7 Savings: $3 |
I already own this game. Why oh why did I buy another copy? Well let me explain this to non wrestling fans. The World Wrestling Federation (WWF) was sued in 2002 and forced to change their name. They are now know as the WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment. There were three video games released in that time that had their re-releases boxart changed from WWF to WWE. This was one of the games that when it was reprinted, it had the WWE logo's on it. The actual game didn't get modified at all, still featuring the WWF name and logos. Mildly interesting to non wrestling fan and really anyone else besides me. It's also nice to have a backup of a game incase for what ever reason my other copy gets damaged somehow.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Cost: $6 Worth (CIB): $7 Savings: $1 |
As a kid, I enjoyed the SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon like most people my generation. Just like any other popular franchises, it got video game made about it. Most of these games are not too good. However one game is actually a fantastic game on it's own, and that's SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. If you even remotely enjoyed SpongeBob, play that game. It perfectly represents the series in a video game. When the first move came out, of course there had to be a video game made about it. However they had the game developed by the same developers that made Battle for Bikini Bottom. This was a fantastic idea as they made another good game. It's basically a spiritual sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom. I can't wait to play this game. I'm waiting though until I replay Battle for Bikini Bottom since it's been years since I last played it.

ECW Hardcore Revolution
Cost: $5
Worth (CIB): $5
Savings: $0 |
On my quest to collect every WWE (F), WCW, and ECW game, I stumbled into the land of extreme to get an ECW game. There were ever two ECW made before they went out of business so I'm half way there! I was watching the ECW Exposed special on the WWE Network and Joey Styles mentioned that he recently bought this game, poor bastard. It's a shame that the game is not too fun or good.
Grand Total
Cost: $80
Worth: $78
Savings: -$2
As you can tell that this month was about building up my PS3 collection as it's the youngest in my collection. This is the first time I believe that I didn't save any money on the worth of these games. I ended up spending $2 extra. But I'm not going to cry over $2 spent. Overall I'm happy what I found for my collection and hoping next month will bring more to my collection. Thank you for reading and have a happy holiday!
